Paying your city bill four ways...
1. Pay at city hall during regular business hours
2. Utility payment drop box outside City Hall entrance
3. If City Hall is closed, at the State Bank of Schaller (can use their drop box for this service also).
4. Mail works fine as well, use PO Box 120.
Never send cash in the mail. It is always advisable to ask for a receipt if you do not pay by check.

Schaller has a free-standing container located by the city shed at the very north end of North Main Street. It has doors labeled as to where you can place recycled materials.
Official publications for the City of Schaller are published in the Schaller Herald.
Agendas are posted at the Post Office, the bank and on the window at Schaller City Hall.

City Public Library
Hours for the Schaller Public Library are Monday & Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-6:00 p.m.; Friday 2:30-5:30 p.m.; Saturday 9:00-11:00 a.m.
City Park Shelterhouse

City Dump Site
The dumping site on the northwest corner of Schaller is for yard waste and tree limbs only. NO PLASTIC BAGS, LUMBER OR HOUSEHOLD TRASH!
Golf Carts
Golf carts are allowed in Schaller between the hours of sunrise and sunset when operated by licensed drivers (you must have a valid driver's license...NO children drivers). And the carts shall not be operated on any city street which is a primary road extension through the city (D15/Second Street for example), however you may cross these streets. Golf carts shall be equipped with a slow moving vehicle sign and a bicycle safety flag at all time, as well as adequate brakes. Chapter 77 of the Code of Ordinances, Schaller, Iowa. Everyone, please enjoy these nice days and stay safe!
Lawn Mowing
Grass and other growth exceeding 8" is considered a nuisance. If you fail to mow, the city will mow the property and you will be billed $100.00 for the first time. If you fail to keep this length, the city will continue to mow it without any notice. Each subsequent mowing will be billed at a rate of $200 per occurrence.
Grass Clippings
Please do not blow or sweep grass clippings into the city streets. This practice is prohibited by ordinance because it will cause problems for our storm sewers.
Tree Trimming
The owner of the property shall keep the trees on, or overhanging the street, trimmed so that all branches will be at least 15 feet above the surface of the street and eight feet above the sidewalk.
Pet Registration
An annual fee of $2.50 is required to be paid for all pets residing within the city limits of Schaller by April 1 every year. You must bring proof that your pet has been vaccinated for rabies when you register your pet, even if you brought your registration in last year. Some rabies vaccinations last one year, some longer. The city needs to see your proof annually when you pay your pet registration. Thank you!
Garbage Collection
Garbage collection is on Tuesday. Have your trash set out by 7:00 a.m. to ensure that you aren't missed by the truck. You are allowed three-33 gallon bags each week. If you need to set out more bags, you must purchase garbage tags for $1.00 each and place on bag.
Sidewalks
Sidewalks must be cleaned from snow and ice accumulations.
Snow Parking
No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley or city owned off-street parking area between the hours of 12:00 a.m.-6:00 a.m. for the residential district and 2:00-6:00 a.m. for the business/commercial district from November 1st to April 1st.
